The Chicago Manual of Technique (above) and the AP Stylebook (below) recommend that numbers be abundant. It’s not to suggest that a stylebook without numbers isn’t possible however. I’m an AP graduate and can verify that there’s a difference.
A stylebook must always be reviewed to determine the ones you’re omitting. For instance it is not a good idea to ignore the letter “t” like the “t”, in “time”.
